Jerneh's Regional Expansion
Jerneh's Indonesia life insurance business will start in Q1 2009. Currently, Jerneh is already in the Philippines and Thailand's life and general insurance markets through partnership with Generali (40% stake in Generali Asia NV). Both operations are expected to break-even in 2009.The Philippines' operations were affected by higher group medical and motor claims in 2008.
Jerneh's Hong Kong business was sold to HSBC Insurance (Asia) Ltd last year.
