Actuaries interviewed by press

A few local actuaries were interviewed by the press recently, this included: Patrick Cheah, , Liew Pek Hin, Azim Mithani and Raymond Lai, President, Vice President, Treasurer and Immediate Past President of ASM respectively.

The general view is that there is a strong demand for actuaries in Malaysia. Malaysian actuaries are also well sought after in countries like Singapore and Hong Kong.

From our headhunting experience, we have also placed actuaries in Indonesia. Malaysian actuarial students are also popular with Singapore employers. As a matter of fact, we are currently looking for someone with 3 to 5 years experience to work in Singapore.

Head of Product Development and Pricing

A takaful operator based in KL is looking for a suitable candidate to head the Product Development and Pricing Department. You will be involved in both family and general takaful products. Prior experience in takaful environment would be preferred but experienced candidates in conventional life insurance are encouraged to apply.

Ideally you should be at associate level or progressing well in your actuarial exams, with some years of management experience and a good knowledge of takaful/insurance products available in the market.
